Since March, Pro-Equine has been sponsoring young dressage rider Carmen Gammie. Carmen (13) from Aberdeenshire rides 7-year old Welsh Section D, Champagne Bubbles. Carmen first represented Scotland at dressage at the age of 9 and got onto the GB pony squad in 2009. In March, Carmen and Bubbles were selected for the pony team to represent GB at the international show at Addington in April. At their first international competition, Carmen and Bubbles got very respectable scores of 63.5%, 61.7% and 62.8% and were encouraged that both Peter Storr (GB pony team trainer) and Paul Hayler (GB pony selector) told them that there is still much more to come from them both.

Carmen, Bubbles and mum Elizabeth travelled straight from Addington to the BD Winter Championships at Hartpury in Gloucestershire. Competing against adults and professional riders, they came 2nd in the Petplan Open Elementary Area Festival and 5th in the Blue Chip Open Novice. This is a phenomenal achievement so huge congratulations to them! This was the first time that Carmen had the Pro-Equine logo on Bubble’s saddlecloth and she says the Pro-Equine badges are obviously lucky. Bubbles had also been washed with Pro-Equine Natural Peppermint Shampoo and, post-competition, always enjoys the Pro-Equine Coolwash to help him cool down and his muscles to recover.
Carmen and Bubbles have been selected for the international in Belgium in May – watch this space to hear how they get on!

Pro-Equine started sponsoring Joanne Shaw in 2009.

Joanne reports on how things have been going:
”My horse, Carnsdale Top Gun, is an Intermediate Working Hunter and an established competitor, having been placed several times and actually winning at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) in his earlier years when in his prime.
Now, at the ripe old age of 15, if I want to stand any chance of a rosette, I have to ensure he is kept especially fit, his joints are well maintained and his coat looks great.
I started using Pro-Equine products 6 months prior to HOYS. I have had my best results with Top Gun during this time, culminating in a clear round and 4th place at HOYS, a personal best! Top Gun is fed regularly on Activgait and always bathed in Pro-Equine Black Henna Shampoo. I would like to thank Pro-Equine for introducing me to their amazing products which I would highly recommend.”

Pro-Equine are pleased to announce our new team member:
Bente Hardman

Bente writes:
….. finally settled in West Sussex after years of trying out different parts of the UK as well as Norway and, more recently, France – with horses in tow. Currently, I have four horses: a yearling, an older broodmare, as well as a young homebred gelding and a young event horse.
……The opportunity to become a distributor for Pro-Equine in the South East fits in very nicely with my ‘other’ job as an Equine Massage Therapist. Taking a holistic approach to looking after the well-being of horses, I take a keen interest in nutrition, including possible supplementation, and the health of the coat, skin and hooves.
I see the Pro-Equine supplements and skin care ranges as superb tools for improving the well-being of my equine clients as well as that of my own horses.
